Amplify Austin is an annual, 24-hour city-wide charity donation campaign aimed to encourage businesses and individuals to give to organizations that support our community.

This year, on the 10th anniversary of Amplify Austin Day, the community raised $9.9 million for Central Texas nonprofits, breaking a $100 million goal that was set in 2013. Over 28,275 Autin community members contributed, as well as several businesses, to support over 700 local organizations since Amplify Austin Day’s inception.

At Status Labs, the team supports the I Live Here, I Give Here mission because it closely aligns with the company’s value of being supportive members of the community that we live and work in. For the past handful of years, Status Labs has made donations during Amplify Austin and encouraged the larger Austin-based team at the company to personally find organizations and causes that matter to them to contribute to as well.

Status Labs donated to two organizations this year:

  • Austin Achieve Public Schools – a tuition-free, open-enrollment public charter school that educates more than 2,300 students from Pre-K to 12th grade.
  • Friends of Austin Animal Center – Austin’s largest open-intake shelter, this organization supports Austin Animal Center and the surrounding community as Austin is one of the nation’s largest no-kill communities. This organization receives roughly 18,000 animals per year.

“I really appreciate the effort that the I Live Here, I Give Here organization puts together for the Austin community. I’ve never seen a website so clearly outline all the meaningful ways to give back to great charities,” says Clair Rogers, Chief of Staff at Status Labs. “It’s so easy to play a role in this donation campaign which has a real impact on our community here. We chose to support Austin Achieve for example because we believe in the local efforts of supporting higher education opportunities to underserved areas – and we also chose Friends of Austin Animal Center because we’re a team of animal-loving individuals that seek joy and comfort from our pets at the office and at home every day. We want to give back to organizations like these to thank and support the people that make it possible to live and work in the Austin that we’re proud to have our headquarters in.”

While Amplify Austin Day is a quick yearly event, there are multiple giving events throughout the year, and giving can be done any time. If you want to learn more about the organization, donate, or volunteer, check out their website here.
