Darius Fisher is the CEO and co-founder of Status Labs. As CEO, Fisher created the strategic vision of the company, built partnerships with agencies and influencers, and recruited the domestic and international sales and account management teams. Prior to co-founding Status Labs, Fisher worked as a political consultant and copywriter. Fisher graduated with honors from Vanderbilt University.
Jesse is an internet marketer with an unhealthy obsession with SEO, social media marketing, running, and his Spotify starred list (8,000 songs and growing). Based in NYC, he has a cat named Gracie and fights a constant battle with a major sweet tooth.
Alexa moved to Austin from New York City, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising Management from the Fashion Institute of Technology. Originally from Sarasota, Florida, Alexa enjoys the beach (shout out to Siesta Key), Americana music, thrifting, her two cats, people watching, running, and Seinfeld. She is an Aquarius.
James J. Olecki is a Managing Director and Head of Status Labs’ Strategic Advisory business dedicated to providing bespoke consulting services to navigate the daily challenges facingglobal CEO’s, Boards of Directors, government officials and high-profile personalities.
Prior to Status Labs, Mr. Olecki served as a personal advisor to the founder of MagicLab, the parent company of dating apps, Bumble, Badoo, Lumen and Chappy.In this role, he consulted on the creation and launch of the holding company and led the company’s communications efforts through its eventual sale to Blackstone.
Previously, Mr. Olecki was Chief Operating Officer of Teneo Strategy, the global CEO advisory firm. In this capacity, Mr. Olecki served as the lead advisor and senior strategist to the firm’s largest global clients across a variety of industries. He also led Teneo’s global investor relations and shareholder activism practices. Mr. Olecki has extensive experience effectively managing global corporate communications, transaction communications, corporate restructuring, investor relations, corporate reputation management, and he specializes in media and reputation management training to senior executives and high profile personalities.
Preceding Teneo, Mr. Olecki was the Director of Global Communications at Ally Financial, formerly GMAC during the time it received bailout funds from the U.S. government and rebranded its corporate image. Mr. Olecki was responsible for the company’s financial communications as well as communications activities for its mortgage business and international operations, and served as the company’s primary spokesman.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Olecki served as Senior Vice President at Weber Shandwick where he specialized in corporate issues management and led the firm’s financial communications practice; was Vice President and Head of Emerging Markets at Financial Dynamics where he advised on someof the largest and most notable IPO’s in the last decade; served as an executive at The Ruth Group where he co-led the firm’s technology group specializing in semiconductors, software and telecommunications sectors; and he began his career as a research analyst at Smith Asset Management.
Lacy is our Director of Public Relations and Marketing Communications. Along with managing Status Labs’ PR team, she drives PR strategy for a wide variety of thought leadership, reputation, branding and crisis campaigns. Prior to joining Status Labs in 2015, Lacy earned her Masters in Advertising from UT Austin and dedicated ten years to working and training in PR, marketing, and branding. When she’s not consulting, editing, or designing, this native Floridian can be found outside hiking, kayaking and exploring Texas. Lacy lives in Austin, TX with her husband, dog, and (always entertaining) chickens.
Originally from Kansas City, Clair moved to Austin to attend The University of Texas. After graduating with honors, she joined Status Labs’ content team to kickstart her career in writing. She later became the Director of Culture for the company before ultimately moving into the Chief of Staff role, taking on corporate communications and internal policy building, recruiting and training, and managing department directors and executive team. When she’s not working, she’s rooting for the KC Royals and Chiefs and running off the energy generated from her incessant sweet tooth.
A native of Niagara Falls, NY, Bob received a Bachelors of Business Administration in Accounting from Niagara University. After spending several years working for The Walt Disney Company in Florida, Bob landed in New Orleans, where he got married, earned his MBA, and had his two children. Four years ago, Bob and his family moved to Austin, ultimately ending up at Status Labs in the role of Controller. When he is not working, his time is spent listening to music, watching football, going to concerts, playing poker, and doing whatever his kids want to do.
Dana has enjoyed growing with the Status Labs SEO team for almost 3 years. With a background in theatre and communications, she loves the creative aspects of tackling ORM projects, as well as working closely with each of our talented SEO team members. Never without a kombucha or Topo Chico on her desk, she also enjoys yoga, scary movies, and musicals.
Claire is a native Texan who attempts to navigate the excitement of the ”Austin scene”…but usually she gets too tired and decides to just unwind with friends instead. She enjoys outings with coworkers, listening to live music, and keeping it pretty chill.
Bailey grew up in Chicago and attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She became simultaneously disagreeable to the cold and fond of traveling, which led her all over Asia and India before she finally settled in Austin, TX. She worked in a sales capacity in the tech industry for three years before finding a home at Status Labs.
When Bailey isn’t at work, she is practicing yoga or researching the best place in town for dinner and drinks.
James has four years of experience in Sales and Account Management, working at Groupon in Chicago for three years in Business Development, as well as developing sales strategy for an interactive software startup. He’s originally from Houston, but spent most of his childhood in Lagos, Nigeria, and Islamabad, Pakistan. This experience gives him a worldly perspective when working with clients all across the globe. He still loves to travel internationally any chance he can. Other hobbies include exploring Austin via bicycle in search of the perfect deli sandwich, attempting to learn every Motown song on guitar, and solving Lone Star beer bottle cap puzzles.
Charlie has been with Status Labs for over three years and has 10+ years of customer service under his belt. Mr. Howell’s in-depth understanding of online reputation has been forged since he started with Status Labs in 2015 on our operations team as an SEO specialist. Status Labs quickly realized his skill of building strong client relationships, which made him a great fit for our account management team. He has thrived in that role and completed dozens and dozens of successful campaigns for happy clients.
Where is Charlie when he’s not in the office hard at work keeping clients happy? You’ll probably find him cycling around Austin, kayaking down Lady Bird Lake, playing basketball in the park, or absorbed in a good book. A true Texan, he is a lifelong fan of the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs, but also bleeds burnt orange for his alma mater. (Hook ’em!)
Laura Weisman is a Business Development Director based in New York City. Prior to Status Labs, she was a top sales performer and manager at SinglePlatform. Originally from Westchester, New York, Laura graduated from Barnard College with a BA in American Studies. Outside of work, Laura can be found exploring the city’s best food and fitness scenes.
Kevin has a diverse professional background with a primary focus in sales and marketing. He’s originally from Florida, but growing up in a military family gave him the chance to experience several different parts of the U.S. and Germany. While attending the University of North Texas, he fell in love with Austin and decided to make the jump after graduating.
He’s been a lifelong Cowboys fan and does his best to explain the game to his fiancé and son (foosball, as she calls it). When Kevin’s not working or spending time with family, he enjoys catching up with friends, cruising around on his skateboard, and searching for the best taco spots in Austin.
Kaitlin graduated from Baylor University with a BA in Journalism. After graduation, she moved to Colorado, where she gained experience working in both a Public Relations agency and an in-house firm. After a few years, she moved back to her hometown of Austin, TX, where she continues to thrive in the PR industry.
When she is not securing valuable media placements, Kaitlin enjoys finding fun new places to eat and drink around town, seeing live music, geeking out on a good history documentary, and hiking around the greenbelt with her two dogs Prudence and George.
Kayla relocated to Austin in 2015 after leaving the hospitality industry in Telluride, Colorado. At Status Labs, she brings forward her communication and marketing skills as a specialist on the Operations team. Outside of work, you can find her on the road or in the mountains.
Arianne Smola is an Account Manager based in Austin, TX. Before joining Status Labs, Arianne spent five years working in the recruitment industry at Indeed.com, in both business development and account management capacities. Arianne grew up in Fairfield, CT, and graduated from Colgate University. She lived in New York City for four years before relocating to Austin in late 2015. Outside of the office, Arianne loves trying new restaurants and recipes, traveling, and catching as many live shows as possible.
Sal was born and raised near the Bay Area of California. After graduating from UC Davis in 2012 with a double major in economics and philosophy, he moved to New Orleans, where he lived three memorable years before moving to Austin in the summer of 2015. He has accumulated experience in sales, management, and the insurance industry, most recently having worked at Progressive insurance for three years prior to joining Status Labs. In his free time, Sal enjoys the outdoors, boxing, playing guitar, reading, and sharing valuable moments in life with friends and family.
Anglyn grew up in Southern California and attended San Diego State University, where she earned a degree in Integrated Marketing Communications. After working a few years, she realized it was time for a change, so she decided to leave the beach behind to find her place in the Live Music Capital of the World—Austin, TX. Anglyn comes to Status Labs with over seven years of digital marketing experience, having managed SEO campaigns in both the tech and legal industries.
When Anglyn is not at work, she is busy taking barre classes, visiting friends and family across the country, or browsing Yelp for the latest places to eat and drink.
Rob graduated from Utah State University with a degree in history, and was commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force. While in the military, he completed over 130 combat missions as an Instructor Navigator on C-130s, and traveled to over 46 countries, including some of the world’s scariest places. After leaving the military, he moved to Texas to start his career in Account Management, where he now calls Status Labs home. When he isn’t in the office, you can find him in his garage working in his woodshop, taking to the skies to indulge in his love for flying, or traveling the world with his wife Dani, his son Max, and his dog. Rob says his favorite things in life are Legos, movies, and airplanes.
Mary is naturally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and moved to NY in 2014 looking for the lights, chaos, and opportunities only the Big Apple can offer. With over eight years of experience in marketing and project management—mostly in the fashion and arts fields—she joined Status Labs to embrace a new challenge: managing online reputation projects for all kinds of clients.
When Mary is not at work, she is probably practicing vinyasa yoga or looking for a new variation of it. Dogs, sunny (and hot) days, art, and chocolate are her passions.
Spencer is a Business Development Director at Status Labs and heads up the company’s west coast operations from sunny Los Angeles. Prior to joining Status Labs, he was a Digital Strategist at Weber Shandwick in New York City. Spencer graduated from Vanderbilt University with a BS in Human and Organizational Development and a Master’s in Organizational Leadership.
Outside of the office, Spencer can be found reading dystopian novels, replacing divots on the golf course, rooting on the Mets (ya gotta believe!), and learning how to live that SoCal lifestyle.
Esther is a Texas native and graduate of The University of Texas. Outside of managing SEO projects, paid social boosts, and content marketing, in her spare time you can find her hiking, camping, and hanging out with her dog, Gracie.
Brittney is a born and raised Texas enthusiast. She graduated from UTSA, where she earned a B.A. in Communication with a concentration in Public Relations. Brittney leverages her skills in media outreach, content creation, research, and coordinating projects with the Status Labs SEO team. She enjoys traveling, reading, caffeine, and cat naps.
Jenna grew up in Houston and attended UT Austin, where she graduated with a BS in Government and Religious Studies. She loves to solve complex SEO and digital reputation challenges. In her role as SEO Strategy Manager, Jenna researches and develops new search engine strategies and helps train the SEO team. When she’s not working, you’ll find her playing outside, at the yoga studio, or trying out new activities and recipes.
Kate moved to Austin from Charlottesville, Virginia, to attend the University of Texas at Austin. A recent graduate, she is excited to be a part of the Status Labs team. Outside of work, she’s usually spending time with friends, trying to get out more, and talking to anyone who will listen about her blind cat, Sandra Dee.
Steve was born and raised in the Northwest part of Houston, Texas. After attending the University of Texas, he decided that the city of Austin would be his permanent home. His love for dogs and technology has flourished thanks to his extensive history of working with major tech companies like Apple Inc. and owning his own dog training company. When he’s not on a hike with his dogs, he is regularly seen on a volleyball court or enjoying the amazing food selection that Austin has to offer.
Chris is the Managing Director of our UK & Europe office at Status Labs and is based in London. Prior to joining Status Labs, Chris was Director of the Industry Practice at alva, a reputation analytics firm, and specialized in communications strategy for the mining, energy, defense, and telecommunications sectors.
Chris holds a first-class honors degree in BSC Management and is a current candidate in the Weekend MBA program at Imperial College London.
Outside the office, Chris spends his time training with his fencing coach and reading.
Anna is a Business Development Director at Status Labs and is based at our London office. Prior to joining Status Labs, Anna was the Chief Account Manager at a leading private real estate company also based in London. Originally from the smallest county in the U.K, Rutland, Anna loves going to the theatre & exploring the endless London pubs with family & friends.
Avery has lived in Austin, Texas for the past four years. He grew up all over North Texas, moving from Richardson to Plano. In Austin, Avery studied Radio-Television-Film, with a focus in podcasting, at The University of Texas at Austin. When he has finished all his work for the day, he enjoys biking, camping, and going to the First Monday Trade Days in Canton, Texas, every month.
Sara works on the Account Management team discovering and engaging new clientele with clear insight of our goals and services. She manages multiple accounts for our various service offerings including reputation management, SEO, personal/company branding, PR, and more. Her meticulous organization and dedication to every project sees that every campaign is successful and her clients are happy with the work we do.After graduating from the University of Kansas, with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and a minor in Communication Studies, Sara traded in her ruby red slippers for a pair of western boots and made her way down to Texas. Since 2009, Sara has sharpened her skills in sales/account management in various industries. Outside of the office, you’ll find her out and about in Austin hiking the hill country, stretching out at yoga, or tasting new flavors from the rotating food trucks.
Brad graduated from UT Austin with a degree in Economics. A dual U.S./Italian citizen, he spends his time reading, hanging out with friends, and dreaming about traveling abroad.
Claire grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and then attended Texas Christian University, where she studied Writing and Spanish & Hispanic Studies. During that time, she studied abroad in Valparaíso, Chile. Before joining Status Labs, she spent a year teaching junior high and high school Spanish.
Outside of work, you can find her bouldering, organizing her books, tending to her houseplants, playing with her scruffy terrier mix, traveling to the mountains, teaching herself Portuguese, eating Asian food, or honing her Harry Potter trivia prowess.
Rachel is a Houston-native and a proud member of Status Labs’ operations team. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin where she took classes in as many departments as she could find. After studying abroad in London, Rachel enjoys BBC shows and a strong cup of black tea. She settled into the rhetoric and writing department and wrote her senior thesis on the rhetoric of sketch comedy. Rachel enjoys puns and her cat Peanut- and hopes this does not give anyone paws.
Scott Shay joined Status Labs’ New York team as Operations Manager before relocating to Austin. He oversees the execution of special projects and major company initiatives, including key accounts and content marketing strategy. Previously, Shay was a Social Media Marketing Manager at FanDuel for five years.
Zach is joining the Status Labs team as an SEO Specialist after spending the last 4 years working in Sports Marketing. He attended Liberty University and grew up in Los Angeles, California. Zach spends his free time attending sporting events, live music, being outdoors, and watching his favorite show The Office.
A native of Dallas, Arye escaped the brutal, cold clutches of New York City and moved back to the Lone Star State to join the wonderful team at Status Labs. Arye is a music fiend who exhibits signs of a potentially-unhealthy obsession with the band Phish and a budding dependency on the Grateful Dead. When Arye isn’t taking in a live show, he’s riding his bike, writing, or learning how to be less-bad at playing the guitar.
Patrick is joining the Status Labs team as an SEO Specialist after spending a year driving the Planters NUTMobile across the country. A native of Houston, Patrick attended the University of Texas at Austin where he double-majored in History & Religious Studies. Patrick has a love for poetry, music, and travel & he likes to take walks around Hyde Park in his free-time.
Monica was raised in the lovely suburb of Cedar Park and attended Texas State University in San Marcos where she got her Bachelor of Science in Advertising. Combining her love for advertising and the internet she was naturally drawn to SEO and digital marketing. Monica comes to Status Labs with 4 years of SEO experience and an ever-expanding curiosity and appreciation for all facets of digital marketing.
When she’s not working you can probably find her playing video games, going on hikes, collecting rocks or petting her dog Cicero!
Darrell came from a freelance SEO and branding background before joining the team at Status Labs. He has a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from McNeese State University in Louisiana and grew up near Memphis (on the very street that Elvis grew up on). He thrives when given opportunities to solve problems creatively in ORM and SEO campaigns. Interests include rock climbing, bedroom guitar playing, and spelunking YouTube rabbit holes. Darrell can be found at any given coffee shop, a nearby rock show, or cruising around on his motorcycle.
Originally from Charlotte, Brittany received her degree from the University of Georgia. After 4 years of sales & marketing in the real estate industry, she decided to move to Europe to work on sailboats as a “chef”, where she learned she loves to travel and hates to cook. Outside of work, Brittany enjoys trying a new workout classes, bargain shopping, and enjoying the outdoors.
Colleen Barndt is an Account Coordinator based in Austin, TX. Prior to Status Labs, she worked for nearly four years in Client Services and Recruiting at Gerson Lehrman Group (GLG), a NY-based professional learning platform. Outside of work, Colleen can be found drenched in sweat (post-yoga), eating all the tacos, or taking a dip in Barton Springs!
Nick has lived in many places across the United States, but has called Texas home for over twenty years. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 2016 with a degree in Radio-Television-Film. He is a multi-instrumentalist, a film fanatic, and a creative writer. When he is not at work researching and strategizing with the team, he can be found reading a book, playing music, or exploring the city of Austin with friends.
Alan moved to New York City after attaining a bachelor’s degree in History from Princeton. Originally from Columbia, Missouri, Alan enjoys traveling, fiery flavor profiles, dogs of all shapes and sizes, deep house, aged cheeses, and late nights. He is a Sagittarius.
